ALMAR is a new restaurant located in the jungle by the pacific coast in Costa Rica. ALMAR wants to be more than just a place to eat, they want to create an experience for you to be able to connect with nature and yourself.
We were asked to create the visual identity and brand. A place clearly connected to the nature but also high end dining in a casual setting.
ALMAR is a reference to the words alma, which means soul and almar, which means going to the sea. Just like the words the restaurant should symbolize the connection to the place where it’s located with all the wild nature around it.
We created a logo where the text, just like the actual restaurant is hidden in nature. The abstract pattern is referencing to the water but also the jungle leaves around it.
The menu is a continuation on the logo and reflects the quality of the restaurant but yet feels natural and relaxed just like the atmosphere of the restaurant.
